We attended the NESEA Pro Tour of a 101-unit resilient mid-rise located in Far Rockaway, NY on May 4th, 2018 that was built to Passive House standards. We were able to see the resiliency features which included the onsite bioswale for storm water retention, raised habitable space and utilities above flood plain, flood vents and flood barriers, CoGen / PV that provides emergency power with natural light, and more. It is always a good opportunity to see a completed Passive House building. Our very own Passive House development, Atlantic East Apartments, is breaking ground in Brooklyn! We encourage everyone in the firm to continue with professional development and going on tours is one of the many ways we do just that.
